Hey Groovy People,

For those who are not too familiar with who I am: hello, I am Payton Linn, but my stage name is Payton Renee and oftentimes, I'm nicknamed the "Groovy girl". I am a singer-songwriter from the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. I mostly focus on the genres of rock, country, and alternative when singing covers or original songs, but I also enjoy throwing other pieces into the mix to make things more exciting. I believe that when you are in my audience we are going to chit chat, sing, laugh, dance, have fun, and overall just have an enjoyable time together to forget about whatever negative stressors are going on in our lives.

I found my adoration for music when I had my first solo in sixth grade singing " Do-Re-Me" (From The Sound Of Music) in the Salisbury Middle School Choir. Soon after, I transferred schools so I could study music at the Arts Academy Charter Middle School. I later on started taking guitar lessons at The Lesson Center in Bethlehem and I had graduated from The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts in 2020. I had continued my musical journey at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated in Spring of 2024 with a BA in Commercial Music: focusing in the area of voice. I had graduated with Magna Cum Laude, while also studying minors in Audio Engineering and Philosophy. I am truly very lucky to have grown up in an area that was labelled as an arts district because it led me to have so many incredible opportunities and meet so many awesome people.

I really started getting out into our music community around age 14. I went to open mics, participated in school showcases and musicals, and I eventually created my own open mics and shows with the help of Chet Brown who was the outreach coordinator during my time at LVCA. At KU, I was part of the school's rock bands and I was able to focus on shaping myself as an artist.Over the past few years, I have played at restaurants all over the valley, Musikfest Cafe, Musikfest, the Blast Furnace Blues Festival, The Celebration of Music Talent Show with host Ethan Bortnick, Opening for Seth Witcher, and I had my first big show having the amazing opportunity of opening for Dana Fuchs.

I have been working as a Production Assistant at ArtsQuest since September, 2023. I get to run live sound for many amazing artists and I really enjoy working with my team to help set up for many of our cool events that we host at AQ.

I love learning and I am always working on bettering myself, not only as a musician, but also as a person. My goals are to create new content, perform in new locations, expand my audience, network, market myself, and most importantly: have fun and spread love. In my free time, you can always spot me around the valley and surrounding areas performing at restaurants, bars, or festivals to share an enduring love for music with my groovy people.
