Hey Groovy People,

I’m Payton Renee—your “Groovy Girl” from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. I am a singer-songwriter blending rock, country, and alternative genres with the occasional surprise to keep things fresh. My performances are all about connection—singing, laughing, dancing, and having a great time together while leaving stress behind.

My musical journey started young—my first big solo in sixth grade singing "Do-Re-Mi" from The Sound of Music (trust me, it was magical) ignited my love for performing. That love only grew as I transferred to the Arts Academy Charter Middle School to immerse myself in music. I studied guitar at The Lesson Center in Bethlehem and went on to graduate from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts in 2020. From there, I pursued my BA in Commercial Music at Kutztown University, focusing on voice, while also diving deep into audio engineering and philosophy. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Spring 2024, incredibly grateful for the opportunities that came from growing up in such a vibrant arts community.

Around the age of 14, I started diving into the local music scene—attending open mics, participating in school showcases, and eventually organizing my own shows with the help of the amazing Chet Brown. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing at iconic spots like Musikfest Café, Musikfest, and many local festivals. I’ve opened for the incredibly talented Seth Witcher, Dana Fuchs, and even got to share the stage with other fantastic artists at events like the Celebration of Music Talent Show hosted by Ethan Bortnick.

But I’m not just onstage. I’ve always had a love for behind-the-scenes work too. My internship with Jason Reif at Freestone Productions was a huge step in my career, where I assisted in setting up and running recording sessions. I’ve also worked as a Production Assistant at ArtsQuest, running live sound for incredible artists and helping bring our signature events to life. It’s that balance of creating and supporting that I love about the music industry.

In October 2024, I decided to make a move to warmer skies and relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC, where I’m now pursuing my career as an Event Tech Lead with Encore Group. It’s been an exciting new chapter, and I’m thrilled to see where this adventure takes me.

I’m always learning and growing—both as an artist and a person. I’m constantly looking to expand my horizons, create fresh content, and build my audience while networking and connecting with amazing people. Music is my passion, but more than that, it’s a way to spread love and joy. Whether I’m performing at a local restaurant, bar, or festival, my goal is to create moments that leave you feeling uplifted and connected.

Thanks for being a part of this journey—I’m so grateful for each and every “groovy” person who supports me along the way. Here’s to good music, good vibes, and unforgettable memories.
